Our Standards

The Inka Flooring Process

We don't just "lay boards." We ensure your investment is protected by following a rigorous process that starts long before the first piece of flooring is installed.

Precision Subfloor Prep

A floor is only as good as what’s underneath it. We spend significant time checking for level, moisture testing, and fixing subfloor dips or peaks. This prevents clicks, gaps, and premature wear.

Acclimation Excellence

Florida's humidity is no joke. We ensure all materials reach the proper moisture levels before installation, preventing warping or buckling later on.

Transition Artistry

We take pride in our door jamb undercuts and wall transitions. No messy gaps or oversized moldings—just clean, seamless lines where your floors meet your home.

Clean Job-Site Policy

We treat your home like our own. Our team uses dust collection systems and maintains a organized workspace, leaving nothing behind but beautiful new floors.

The short answer is yes, BUT it’s a bit like living in a "controlled construction zone" for a few days.

Most of our Polk County neighbors choose to stay home while we work, and we are happy to accommodate that! However, to keep things moving efficiently and safely, there are a few industry-standard things to keep in mind:

Phased Access: We usually work room-by-room or in sections. This means you’ll always have a "safe zone" to hang out in, but certain areas might be off-limits for a few hours while the subfloor is being prepped or the new floors are being set.

Noise & Dust: Even with our "clean-as-we-go" policy, installation involves power tools, hammering, and some inevitable dust. If you work from home or have small children who need nap time, you might find it easier to run a few errands during the loudest parts of the day.

Safety First: For the safety of your family (and our team!), we ask that children and pets stay completely clear of the work area. Between sharp transition strips, heavy materials, and open subfloors, it’s best to keep the work zone strictly for the pros.

HVAC Matters: Industry standards (and manufacturer warranties) require that your home stays at a consistent temperature (usually between 60°F and 80°F) during the install. We’ll need your AC running to keep humidity low so the new floors acclimate perfectly to your home.

Julio’s Pro-Tip: "If we’re doing your only bathroom or the main kitchen area, plan for a 'picnic style' day! We’ll give you plenty of heads-up before we start on those essential spaces so you can grab what you need."

Don't worry about the mess. As part of our flooring service, we can handle the tear-out and disposal of your old carpet, tile, or laminate. We’ll discuss this during your in-home consultation so your quote includes a plan for a clean, empty subfloor ready for Julio’s precision prep.

he best way to help us hit the ground running is to clear the floor of all "smalls" - think lamps, plants, area rugs, electronics, and breakables. Tucking these away in a "safe zone," like a garage or a room not being floored, protects your belongings and allows us to focus entirely on your new floor.

What about the heavy lifting? We know moving sofas, dining tables, and beds is a big job. While we are happy to handle the heavy furniture for you, please keep the following in mind:

Moving Fee: Because of the extra labor and time involved, we do charge a nominal fee for moving large furniture items.

Liability: For safety and insurance reasons, our team cannot move extremely oversized or high-value items (like pianos, pool tables, or built-in electronics) or disconnect gas/water lines.

Closets & Storage: Please ensure closet floors are cleared of shoes and hanging clothes are moved up or out so we have space to work.

By handling the small items yourself, you help us keep our timeline tight and your costs down. If you need us to move the heavy stuff, just let us know during your in-home consultation so we can include it in your transparent quote!

We love pets, but flooring installation involves open doors, power tools, and sharp transition strips. For their safety and to keep them from accidentally stepping on wet adhesive or un-prepped subfloors, it’s best to keep your furry friends in a gated area or a separate room until the final walk-through is complete.
