The Flooring of My Soul: Why Survival is a Beautiful Lie

I've spent a lot of time talking about flooring durability every day, but I’ve realized that the most important foundation isn't under our feet, it's in our hearts.

The Hard Truth? I’ve been hiding.

I’ve been hiding behind the "busy-ness" of our family business. I’ve been hiding behind the stove, the spreadsheets, and the day-to-day of being a wife and a partner. I told myself it was for survival. I told myself I was waiting for the "right opportunity" to be who I really am.

But survival is a cage.

I’ve realized that most of us are walking around with a "new version" of ourselves waiting to be birthed. For me, it’s a version that isn’t afraid of resistance. It’s a version that wants to connect, to paint, to dance, and to guide others through the messy rooms of their own minds.

"I used to think resistance was a sign to stop. Now, I know it’s the only way to build a nervous system strong enough to handle a big life."

I’m learning that you can’t build an abundant life or a deep relationship on a foundation of things left unsaid. Whether it’s quiet hesitations or secret dreams, the weight of what we withhold eventually slows us down until we’re standing still.

Choosing to be seen.

So, here is my response to life today: I am choosing to be seen. Not just as a business owner in Lakeland, but as a woman who values her solitude, her strength, and her "1000+ aspects."
